Are my Xbox wireless headphones charging or being power supplied?

When I connect my Xbox wireless headphones to my PC with USB, are the headphones still draining the battery or would they work even if the battery was removed?

    Turtle Beach x12 problem

if you are using a controller with a cord attached either charging it or connecting it wired to the xbox then it could be the extra power coming through the headphone jack on the controller causing the sound so use a completely wireless controller to
    test.

    Wired versus Wireless Controllers/Headsets

Wired for everything, always. Partly because I do all my gaming (PC and xbox) on my monitor, thus have no need for wireless, only being like 4 feet away from the console/monitor, and partly due to the added weight in wireless headsets, due to battery packs
and such, that make them less comfortable to wear, but more so because wired allows for more consistent and higher quality in headphones and they also provide constant power, meaning no need to charge/replace batteries.

I'm a bit of an audiophile and I do not have speakers, meaning I use my headphones for everything - youtube, movies, gaming, music, etc., so I do not use dedicated "gaming headsets." Instead, I use a higher quality pair of regular headphones - quality that
cannot be obtained through wireless - and attach a modmic to them. Higher quality cans require a dedicated power source and depending on their application, also a DAC and/or amp.

The sound card on my PC has a built-in headphone amp and DAC, so the quality is better than on xbox, but my headphones in general give me better overall sound than any gaming headset I've used, including ASTRO's, Turtle Beach and even Sennheiser, and I don't
even have super high-end cans. They are also the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn.

Wireless headset turning xbox on when I use them on PC

Ok I found out I was holding the power button for the headphones for too long and that was causing the Xbox to turn on. The new wireless Xbox headphones only require a momentary press to turn on and they link to my laptop seamlessly.

    Power consumtion with Xbox controller

    Hi,

I think there have been some confusion with the answers here. Xbox One Controllers on PC can connect in three different ways.

    USB

Your PC's USB port will charge the battery during play or just power the controller if no battery present.

Bluetooth Your controller will be connected to the PC wireless via the BT protocol.

Official Xbox One PC wireless receiver

The wireless receiver uses its own wireless protocol (it's not Bluetooth), provides slightly more features and is easier to pair with the PC. It may or may not use more power, it really depends on how you're using it. Obviously it will use more power if
you use a mic or headphones.

One controller on its own with no mic or headphones should use the same power consumption as Bluetooth.

    Headset issues Xbox One(Not S or X)

They are almost fully charged when this has occurred, yes. Both the wireless headphones and the controller batteries.
