Aquatic Update Minecraft help

I purchased the latest disc version of Minecraft for Xbox One.

I already had the Minecraft Xbox One Edition at home but bought the newest version for the Aquatic Update.

The cover of the disc shows the features of the Aquatic Update, (showing dolphins, turtles, etc) however when I put the disc in and went into the game, the Aquatic Update was not present, there were no dolphins turtles or their spawn eggs or any of the aquatic
features at all. My Xbox system is not showing any updates available.

I don't know why or what I am doing wrong, but the Aquatic Update is the reason I purchased another disc for Minecraft, so I would really appreciate any help on how to get it.

It is also to my understanding that since the Aquatic Update has come out, other updates have also been released such as Village and Pillage and the Bees. My sister has them on her tablet and has had the Aquatic Update on her tablet for over a year, yet
we have never gotten it on Xbox.

Again, I appreciate any help or where to find it.

Minecraft xbox360 edition is suppose to get the aquatic update. Will I still be able to import worlds from the xbox360 edition to the xboxOne edition after xbox360 gets the aquatic update?

Do you mean Aquatic mode or an Aquatic mod? There is not a Aquatic mode. There is an update that added water biomes and dolphins and the like. That requires you to have the Normal Edition of Minecraft.

Aquatic mod would be something you need the Normal edition then spend extra to get. If it requires coins then that is a mod.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend checking within the game. Go to my games and apps>highlight Minecraft>hit the start/menu button>go to manage game>then look under ready to install. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the game completely.
If there is nothing there, you will need to reach out to Mojang on how to update the game. Make sure the disc is inserted when doing this.

"Update Aquatic" was a regular update and has been out for a while, so you might already have it.

There are/were two editions of the game on Xbox One, so first make sure you're using the one just called
Minecraft. Then, load the game and check the version number in the lower right corner of the main menu. You must have version 1.5.2. or higher. If so, you already have "Update Aquatic."

If you are using the legacy edition called Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, you need to get
Minecraft. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition has been discontinued and will not get "Update Aquatic." Owners of
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition can get Minecraft for free. You should be able to find it in My Games and Apps > Ready to Install, if I'm remembering correctly.
