Apps and games not signing in.

I am having the same issue. It appears to be intermittent. Has happened twice in the last week.

I have uninstalled the Xbox app and reinstalled it. No change. Last time the app logged in, it just started working the next day. Currently, it is not working again (2nd day this time).

I did both your options, and went through the startup list, some were on manual, I changed to auto, restarted, no change, Xbox app still doesn't work (loads for 2 min, then shuts off).

Your powershell command line did not work, got this result.

Just realized that the trailing period is the issue, reran script and trying to restart...

For now, I would like to suggest the following potential fix:

Option 1:
Right-click on the Windows button and select PowerShell (run as administrator)

Then, run the following command: (you may want to copy and paste the entire command)

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_. InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}.

This command can take a while to end, but when the process ends, you should be able to type in the PowerShell window.

After that, restart your computer and try again.

Option 2:
Search “Services” by using the Windows search functionality and look for the following services:

IP Helper
Xbox Live Auth Manager
Xbox Live Game Save
Xbox Live Networking Service
Gaming Services

For each service: Right-click on the service > Properties.
In Startup Type, set the service to Automatic.

If the service isn’t started, click Start > Apply > OK to save changes, restart your PC and try again.

Note: In case GamingServices can't be modified, skip that one.

Restart the PC and try again.

sign into the kids account on pc, open xbox app, sign out of xbox app and sign in with your account, download forza 5, once done sign out of xbox app and back in with your childs account, they can now launch and play the games, you have been able to share windows games and xbox app games and gamepass pc games with other accounts for a very long time.

on the windows laptop, sign out of the xbox app, sign in with the ultimate sub account, download whatever games they was from gamepass, sign out of the xbox app and back in with their account and they can then play those games.

On the computer, the game uses the Xbox profile that is signed into the Xbox app, but it can cause issues if the account that is signed into the Microsoft store is different than the one signed into the Xbox app.

So, please check if your Microsoft store account and the Xbox app account are the same and they are your main account. If possible, sign out of both apps, then sign in again.
