Applying Xbox "credits" to Xbox Live Gold Subscription

I have nearly $59 of Xbox code redemptions on my account and none of it was applied to my Xbox Gold Live subscription purchase. Is there any way to apply this to the subscription and refund my credit card?

Can't buy xbox live with prepaid cards

Unfortunately you can not purchase Xbox Live Gold with prepaid gift cards but would rather need to buy an Xbox Live Gold subscription or swtup a payment option such as paypal or credit.

Xbox Live Gold subscription is not linked to a console but to a profile, so did you buy a Gold subscription with your profile?

Sorry but currently, currency cannot be used for a Gold membership. That payment must still come from a direct payment source or if you were to purchase a code from your local retailer.

An Xbox Live Gold subscription at the moment can only be redeemed through an Xbox Live Gold pre-paid subscription card, or with a payment option (credit card or PayPal) attached to your gamertag.

Did you happen to have Game Pass Ultimate, then by Xbox Live gold and apply it to your existing subscription?

1. You are correct that you should never display any of your account/personal information.

2. This is what I understand from your post. If you applied an Xbox Gold subscription card on the 6th, and your account renewal/"expires on" date is on the 18th, then the credit card would not be charged. At least that's how it has worked
for me.

You can verify by clicking on your gamertag name in the upper right corner of this web page, then "Microsoft Account" and then click the "Services & Subscriptions" tab, you will see a date that your Xbox Live subscription expires on. If the date is something
beyond February 18, 2016, then your Xbox Live Gold subscription card has taken effect and the credit card should not be charged at that time.
