    Apparently if you own Minecraft on XBOX you can get it on PC for free, but it doesn't work...


    Hi, I've been trying to install Minecraft using my XBOX account on Microsoft store but it doesn't work. Someone please tell me what to do! (I really hope I don't have to buy it again, please Microsoft!)

    Apparently if you own Minecraft on XBOX you can get it on PC for free, but it doesn't work for me.

    the game is not play anywhere, you have to purchase each version on each platform that you want it on.

    Owning the game on Xbox does not give you it for free on PC or any other platform. You will have to pay for it if you want to play it on PC.
    but what about the account? doesn't it own minecraft?

    I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....
    There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

    On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

    As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

    However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.

    Owning it on one platform doesn't allow you to play it for free on other platforms. You would have to purchase it for PC in order to play it on PC. You can buy it through the Microsoft Store app on PC or through the Minecraft website.
