App not letting me add friend, how do you fix

2. Check your internet connection. Make sure that you have a stable internet connection and that your device is connected to it. You can also try resetting your router or modem to see if that resolves the issue.



3. Try adding your friend from a different device. If you have access to another device with the Xbox app, try adding your friend from there to see if the issue is with your device.

How were you able to add your children as friends on their respective accounts? I am also having the same issue with them requesting friends on their ipad app—but none of the settings options allow me to fix it or address it for them.

To add a friend by username, press the Xbox logo button and press the RB to scroll over to the people tab. Scroll down and select the "Find someone" option. This will allow you to type in and search for individuals
by username. When you find the individual you want to add, click on their profile and select "Add friend".
