Anyone remember the "Blades" lol

Just happened to find that demo disc that came with my old original white arcade system, with that super cheesy "science" video lmao.

And the dashboard was still in the blades form in the menus.

The dashboard went through so many changes since then, makes you wonder how different X1 will be in a year or two from now.

Best UI the 360 ever had, now it just gets worse with each update.

 

Completely agree with Shigurui.

I loved the Blades dashboard. Minimal advertising and every needed function was quick and easy to access.

The Blades dashboard was designed for a games console.

That being said I would miss the Avatars but then again they seem to be getting phased out with each update since their introduction too.

 

I agree, I did really like the blades.

Avatars are already phased out, they dont even exist on Xbox One. Unless you use them for your gamerpic you dont even see them anymore.

 

The blades were way better than now. The X-One UI is sooooo slooooow compared to the blades. I wish they'd bring them back as bad as they looked because they functioned properly.

 

I want the blades back, they were quick and easy.

 

The blades were nice and simple. I also liked how you could change the colour of them.

 

The blades were before my time on the 360. I think I came in just one update too late because my first dashboard was the same as what we have now, but 4 years ago and the design was blue instead of white. I said this elsewhere but it would be nice if they
had given us the choice in interface. So we could select them ourselves.

 

Glad to know I wasn't the only who liked the blades! Although I think getting to all the apps I use now would be a hassle would with that setup , I still miss em.

 

The Blades were functional, but dull, I still preferred them to all the dashboards since then...

 

I have a faint recollection of the "Blades" dashboard since it was on the 360 I used when I played Gears 1 for the first time. Never got really acquaintanced with it to speak about it with the level of nostalgia you guys have done.

When I bought an Xbox of my own, it was on NXE. I liked the navigation in that dashboard and even more so with the NXE Kinect revision because they ditched the perspective boxes coming at me when I moved. It was visually pleasing.
