anyone know why city of brass does not run for me?

Laptop Asus Tuf F17

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz 2.69 GHz

Ram 8gb

OS had win 11 downgraded to 10

GPU: Nvidia 3050

got the steam version of the game

worked on two slow laptops that i no longer have

one had windows 10 and the other i dont remember possibly win8

tried it on this one crashes before it startsup at all

looked around on the internet saw breifly that this is not the only incompatible game

found that out after trying to start it in compatiblity mode after it did not work it told me it was an incompatible program

in the windows event viewer i see... this

might try it out thanks side note asked some people i know on youtube hinting to me that it might be a hardware issue so untill further notice this is as far as i can go i got oracle virtual box but also not a whole lot of ssd space that an i might be missing some drivers now that ive thought about it for a bit because i still thought iobit was trust worthy i used their driver booster(forgot the name) to update my laptop and tried to play another game the last remnant (also steam was still in my library after it was unregistered from steam) i had to factory reset my laptop and update my drivers and got that to work i had uninstalled some stuff before that netframe work vc runtime thinking i installed broken drivers and runtimes since they also affeced me being able to run another game Nightmare reaper could not start it up fixed that so i have to be missing a couple of not obvious drivers ive also tried redownloading all the frameworks i think i need and the runtimes and that did nothing

Hi, don't worry. I can advise you another 4 things to try:

A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
Restart your computer and give it a new try

B. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

C. Exists the possibility of an incompatibility with your specific hardware. Try the thing with the virtual machine.

whoops forgot to put some of the other stuff i got windows defender i turned everything that i could think of off on that firewall too

verifying the files on steam running in admin from the direct file in the steam folders, reinstalling it i have not tried a vm yet or how to set that up as far as persisting on win 10 or 11 its persisted for me on both i even tried putting the whole folder in syswow64 to see if it would run there no dice

First, The issue persists on both Windows 10 and 11?

If yes, may I know if you have installed an antivirus?

Sometimes the antivirus can interfere with some games, if yes. Please disable all the protections temporarily and try to run the game

If that doesn't work, and to avoid giving you the same troubleshooting steps tell me.

Besides running the game in compatibility mode, what else did you tried?
