simple question indeed, but as far as I know there is no technical details about that.

I do know that when a cable is connected you won't be able to select Wifi (connect to the wifi network) as network option.

And since as far as I know the Wifi option is only one that can connect to a wifi network, it in itself isn't broadcasting in a way that other devices can find or connect to the console via Wifi, as in it's not a hotspot etc.

you're talking about, which is exactly why i have nothing to look up since I already know all I need to. Buying a phone with no service at all, no contract, etc=prepaid because you end up paying for service in some form eventually, such as your supposed
WiFi theory. You can't simply pick up WiFi just because it's there and not expecting
somebody to be paying for it, or else without service which clearly isn't free there would be no connectivity. 1 aother thing yuou seem to be missing is that you can't connect to XbBx Live, PlayStation Network, etc, without internet service because
that's all XBox Live and PlayStation network are, they're not providers, they're networks, so what you're telling me about connect a cell phone to Xbox Live is virtually impossible.

What exactly happens when you try to view TV listings? Do you get an error message or does it just not populate? Be sure both your Xbox One and phone are connected to the same WiFi network if they're not already.

I dont understand what your asking are you trying to connect more than one xbox to the same wifi? If so there shouldnt be an issue it is probably somthing to do with your internet you could try resetting the wifi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and
see if it helps also you can check exactly whats wrong with your wifi by going to settings-> general-> network settings-> test network connection. This will tell you whats wrong and exactly how to fix it.
