Hey there, when you're prompted for the 1-month trial, you're required to enter a payment option, as that will be billed because
automatic renewal is turned on by default, but you won't be charged until the trial month period has ended. As soon as you enter payment details and accept the trial, you can cancel your automatic renewal here on Xbox.com (in the My Account section)
and you won't be charged when the trial month period ends.

Yes you can take advantage of your GamePass Trial to play the game Forza Horizon 4 and your progress will be saved to the cloud for you to use if you do purchase the game after your trial is done. Now keep in mind that when you start he trial it will charge
you once the trial is over at he regular subscription rate for your area. You can turn off automatic renewal at
Microsoft Account Page in your Services and Subscriptions section.

The 1 month free trial is only available to people who have purchased new Xbox 360 consoles. There are 3 free trials available for each new console purchased and those free trials are for creating new "silver" or "free" accounts on the Xbox 360 console itself.
After signing up for the trial you need to provide a credit/debit card and you are not charged until the trial is over. You can turn off automatic renewal if you wish to do so, and you won't be charged anything. Once the trial ends the account will go from
Gold back to Free.

But you could Turn off the Auto renewal so you will not be charged.
