Anyone having trouble canceling downloads?

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Reset the Xbox app and Gaming Services app.

Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps Features. Select Xbox app, then click Advanced options. Click the reset button, do the same for the Xbox app, try launching the game again using the Xbox app and see if it works.

Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Gaming Services App

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Restart your device and try to check if you can cancel the installation or install games properly.

Solution 3:

Kindly check if you can cancel the installation by using the Microsoft Store app, go to Library > Updates & Downloads.

I had trouble too. all I did was cancel the download and then try to download it again and it worked.

I'm sorry to hear about the download issues. Usually that error just pops up for a time and is resolved after an hour or two.

USB drive?

I'm having straight up trouble downloading this game period. I'm in the US but I'll get to around 15-20% and it will say "cannot download gears of war" and just cancel it.
