Anyone had thus issue Microsodt 365 purchase

I purchased a new laptop computer. I originally had a trial for Microsoft 365.

I tried to upgrade to a regular subscription and was billed twice at the monthly rate of 6.99 a month. but was not able to activate on my computer

I had a hard time finding a phone number for Microsoft and then finally found what looked like a legit phone number. 1 888 439 8852.

When I called them they said they would call me back. The phone rang and the phone came up caller ID Krishna Abel.

He seemed legit at first and I told him I wanted to pay the yearly price not monthly as to save money. He then said he will refund the money. And that they had a special that if you bought a x box pay card it would also save me $9.95.

While he seemingly was trying to "fix my problem, he asked for access to my laptop. But we could not get the program to open so he said he could do it on my phone.

He then told me to go to Walmart and purchase the cash card. I did so at the self serve register. As he had me on the phone I went home but asked if the cashier had to activate the card like a gift card.

He said to scratch off the numbers on the card and open my camera so he could see it. Then he told me the card was never activated and I needed to go to the store and get another card. He asked if dollar general was closer.

At the same time he told me to look at my bank account because he refunded the money to me. (He had asked me to logg into my bank so he could originally see the charges.) He told me the money was refunded. I did see reversals.

I sked him if I needed to go back to Walmart and get them to activate the cards or refund me the money and get new cards.

He said I did not need to do so because if it was not activated Walmart would refund my money. He told me to go to a closer store like dollar general or family dollar and purchase new cards. At which time I told him to cancel. I have another computer with office already on it if I need to use office I will use that computer.

At this point I was tired, had a headache was nervous about the gift card thing and the fact that he saw me log into my bank. I wanted off , freeze my bank card, change my passwords and get off. He was insistent that he could not stop the process, I told him don't you have cancelation policies? And he has yet to load it or send me an email to load to my computer.

He hung up on me.

Afterwards I froze my bank card, and changed my passwords, ordered a new bankcard, and went to Walmart and customer service said they don't activate the cards. Once you pay it is activated.

.I went home and logged into Xbox account checked the card and it was already redeemed.

When I checked my bank account, all charges were reversed by my bank not microsoft because the 1.99 alerted them to possible fraud and so all other Microsoft charges were either denied or refunded. So the only way he would know any money was refunded was if he reloaded back into my bank.

Beware and don't use Xbox cards for microsoft.
