    Anyone found a fix for VRR grayed out while in hdmi override to hit 120 hz??


    (Xbox series x) My asus monitor has all the bells and whistles, and supports up to 240 hz through hdmi 2.0. However, the Xbox only auto detects in 60 hz on the monitor (the last time I checked unless this has been fixed recently on Xbox’s end). So in order to enable 120 hz I have to put it into hdmi override mode. But, when I do this it grays out the variable refresh rate option in the video modes. I still have VRR enabled on my monitor, however it is grayed out on the Xbox options. Anyone found a fix to this??

    I have noticed some games seem kind of juddery and choppy in 120 hz mode for instance halo Mcc and occasionally on 60 FPS games that are experiencing frame drops. I assume this is because the Vrr option isn’t enabled on the Xbox thus, it’s not working on the monitor as well even tho it’s enabled. Anyone found a fix to this yet?? Or has Xbox stated they plan to fix the auto detect so that it will detect 120 hz on all monitors and allow Vrr??

    Xbox Series X Frame Rate Issue

    When I set it to 120Hz by overriding it, the VRR option gets grayed out. When I set it back down to 60 Hz, i can enable VRR again. On 60Hz with or without VRR enabled, there is no stuttering. I also have tried all of these iterations with free sync enabled and disabled on my monitor.

    I found out the problem. For some reason, vrr ( variable fresh rate) was greyed out under graphics. I unplugged the hdmi and pluged back in and it is enabled again.

    I don't understand why at first place it was greyed out and console was keeping at 120 hz constant. Now it fluctuates again and game is really smooth and graphics are great.

    I already responded to you and told you, your TV doesn't support 120 Hz or VRR

    Thanks. The only thing is now my display apparently doesnt support 1440p at 120 hz. It is connected through hdmi 2.0 so it should. I thimk others may have the same problem. Any fixes found?
