    Anyone Else’s “Idle Options” Not Working?


    Hey all, been experiencing an issue lately with my Xbox Series X’s “idle options”, where the screen dims the peak lumens after a certain amount of time without user input. I always have this set to the quickest option (2 minutes) as I play on an OLED screen. This feature is very important to me, as this prevents deterioration of the screen when static elements are present, and there are times when I’m idle at the console and need this to kick in.

    As of late, I’ve noticed this feature not working as intended, and not activating even when I’m idle from the console for extended periods of time. Iv’e found that restarting the Xbox will temporarily fix this issue, but will return again after a short period of time.

    Is anybody else having this same issue?

    Blu-ray idle xbox

    Go to settings, select preferences, and hit idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.
    This will fix the current issue, but removes the idle screen. This sounds like a bug as it is not intended to idle while watching a disc based movie (or streaming content either).

    Ensure you have the latest version of the bluray app from the store. If that doesn't fix it, the work around M3tal Daz3 suggested will work, but it not a permanent fix as it removes the Idle option from the console.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    I’m sorry but as of the moment that can’t be changed yet. What works for me is plugging in the controller directly on the console using a wired cable.
