    Anyone else really upset with their $200 paperweight of a controller?


    I cannot believe that Microsoft's flagship controller runs so badly on windows 10.

    Every 5 mins, it drops the bluetooth connection. From less than 3ft to pc tower.

    It's perceptually worse than my standard xbox 1 controller, which really angers me.

    Then to see that these issues are widespread, for at least 2 years, and the only responses are clueless humanoid bots feeding us the "have you tried restarting it?".

    Absolutely garbage in my mind.

    Coming from *nix, I find microsoft to be expensive and buggy, falling short in all the ways that matter. The fact that a $200 controller cannot work with $150 licensed software on a new $2600 PC with 60freakingGB of RAM is mind-boggling.

    Is it so hard to sell working products?

    Looking forward to the ban hammer shortly, as I doubt such a blemish of a post will be allowed to exist- I see that the other threads about this get locked after months of indifference.

    HDMI won't work with my monitor?

    Actually I found out it's because my monitor "doesn't support HDCP".

    Anyway to bypass this? If I can't I just purchased a $200 non-returnable paperweight. :/

    If things like that bother you then yes, you should return it. It's going to be even more upsetting when other parts break and the controller is a paperweight after 4 months, so just save yourself the headache.

    imo its a gimmick to control what you play and do, for anyone that does not have the benefit of good internet or any internet at all this machine is just going to be a paperweight.

    I would recommend calling or chatting with Xbox Support to see what they can do and if they can get a replacement controller for you. Unfortunately your issues with the controller don't sound like anything that has a quick do-it-yourself fix. Hopefully Xbox
    Support can help you out with replacing it!
