    I try to play and save my achievements on xbox but I get the error 0x8015DC12

    app
    troubleshooter
    :

    1. Press Windows
      Key+X.
    2. Click Control Panel.
    3. Select Troubleshooting.
    4. On the left pane, click on
      View All.
    5. Click on
      Windows Store app
      to run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Also, please try: to perform a
    clean boot
    , this helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10.

    You see the following error code
    (0x8015DC12)
    when you try to launch a game or an app on your Xbox One console: This means you might

    need to wait a few minutes and then try to play the content again, or you'll need to restart your console.

    To resolve this problem, restart your Xbox One console, and then try to launch the game or app again. Here's how:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Restart console.
    4. Select Yes to confirm.
    5. Try to play the content again.
    Note If you’re unable to access the guide, or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the
    Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the
    Xbox button on the console again to restart. Try to play the content again.

    If you keep experiencing the problem, contact
    Xbox Support.

    Yes and no. There is the Xbox app that is a default app on windows 10, and the games you can find in the Xbox store will use the Xbox Live servers to keep the cloud save progress and achievements up to date. But it is not crucial to the operating system.
