Anybody revisit old(er) games?

Simple question. For some random reason I popped in Dead Space on Friday... I guess I just wanted to try that "50% shields/Asteroid" achievement. (I succeeded btw)

So, does anyone else randomly pop in old games to either just play or go for one of those achievements they thought they weren't going to get "back in the day"? If so, what game was it? How long was it in between achievements?

I hope over time the Xbox One will add BC and have a Xbox Originals/360 section so that we can play old games like Halo 2,GTA,Gears of War and so on

Yeah it's fun to revisit old games from time to time, be nice to have some form of backwards compatibility but if I'm gonna play old games I'll use my old console.

Agreed! I would love to revisit as many of the old places as possible in ME3. I love the idea of following the continuity through.

 

I tend to go back to get the harder difficulty achievements.

I replayed gears judgment recently just for the insane achievement.

I also replayed dead island riptide because i got that glitch that stopped me completing all the champion boss missions.

I have achievements years apart on quite a few games.

 

Congrats on that Dead Space achievement.

Every now and then, I will throw Call of Duty:World at War in the tray and try one more time for that "The Sum of All Zeroes" achievement. . .and fail. I think that's the only one I need to complete the campaign cheevos. I also enjoy doing a few World
at War zombies rounds solo (obviously won't ever jump into online matchmaking because of the rampant modding). For me, the old WaW zombies were the best.

I love revisiting my old favorites, but with all the new games constantly dropping down the chute it's hard to find time to play everything that I want to play.

 

I revisit old(er) games regularly. Last year I played through Jade Empire and The Longest Journey. Its why I don't like getting rid of games or consoles because you never know when an old game might scratch the right itch.

 

When I first started playing the 360 I wasn't really sure what games I liked other than shooters so I played quite a variety of games and one day I was content with what I'd experienced so I slowed down and started going back over games which sorted became
my thing.

Two examples of mine are Dead Rising which the first achievement doesn't even have a date so that means I started it around 2006 and the last achievement is in 2012 so that took me a good 6 years to complete, haha.

Also Ninja Gaiden 2, I bought it because a friend told me how awesome it is, never heard of the series before. Struggled to finish it on the easiest difficulty and stopped playing it which was in 2009, again picked it back up again and completed in 2012.

There's actually many more like that, but those are two that I remember really well.

 

Thanks Leo. I tried it about 10-15 times and I must have gotten lucky the last time, because I finished it with 61% hull integrity.

Digital, I think I did that with Oblivion. My first achievement probably happened the day the game was released back in 2006. I finished the 1250/1250 about 5 or 6 years later.

Since it's the only achievement I need, I've started going through DS on 'Impossible' difficulty.

 

It's actually funny because Dead Space was another game I had a long break in between starting and completing, but I seriously played half of the first chapter and didn't have the guts to go back for over a year, haha.

I got half way through dead space on the hardest difficulty and for some reason didn`t finish it, i can`t remember why.

I too am missing that one shield/asteroid achievement.

 

Oh for sure I do. I will often revisit old games here and there. Sometimes it's to finally beat a game, and other times it's to replay it. I actually want to re-play Red Dead Redemption very soon.

 

Don`t go near the multiplayer on red dead, its modded worse than call of duty.

 

I played Super Mario Sunshine over the weekend on the Gamecube and Gundam VS Zeon DX on the Dreamcast.

 

I have no issue at all with playing an old game on my 360 but I won't go older than that. My Gamecube was given away a long time ago.

 

Thanks for the heads up, Owen. Red Dead is another game I thought about re-visiting as I never got around to playing the bulk of the DLC that was released.

I got through Chapters 2 & 3 in Dead Space last night on my Impossible run. I had forgotten I bought the Tank Suit DLC, which is really making this a walk in the park.
