Any word on when 120hz / VRR / HDR bug will be patched?

I have a Samsung CHG70, it supports 1440P 120hz. If you want HDR you have to set it for freesync on the monitor and turn VRR on the xbox. Im hoping the series x supports 1440P 120hz with HDR on and not having to turn freesync on at all because its only
limited to 80fps i believe.

Iv got a brand new acer that's hdmi 2.1 and have been playing on 4k 120hz hdr vrr, fully optimized and been running perfectly. Just the console creating the black screens.

ignore him, you need a monitor that supports the 120hz mode for consoles too, needs to be hdmi 1.4 and above (1.4b for hdr). i use a msi mag artymis 324cp which is a 165hz curved screen 32", it works perfect on xbox one s and the series consoles and series works with 120hz on it with vrr too.

down to personal preference, but VRR is a must at 120hz as the xbox and ps5 cannot always maintain 120fps and any drops you will notice easily.

the 3060 on the laptop will most likely be able to play 120 hz on some games but not all either.

having HDR on also reduces fps a bit also as it increases gpu usage.

I recommend keeping all of those 3 options enabled. When supported, Dolby Vision will provide superior image quality, but regular HDR will still provide a better picture than SDR. VRR should also remain on, this will make your gameplay feel smoother in games that support 120Hz or unlocked framerates.
