Any word on reducing lag?

Has been some lag for some time in games over xbox live. Any word on patches to reduce lag when connecting to our friends in Noobistan, or ubermanistan, or Wayfarawaydudeia, or Bomberchickodia?

Lag can be greatly affected by tv settings too. If your tv has one, put it into GAME mode, which should reduce any lag introduced by processing.

If it doesn't, try turning off any picture processing options

It could be input lag caused by your TV's settings. Turn of any extra processing, like edge enhancement, adaptive contrast, etc, etc. If it is input lag, it can be greatly reduced by adjusting your picture properly.

It is entirely possible that your TV is causing the lag. I would make sure you have the video settings to the proper resolution (720i/p/1080i/p) according to your TV. If the TV has to try upscaling/downscaling the image, you could experience lag.

I would also recommend seeing if your TV has a "Game Mode" or something similar. This setting helps reduce any video processing and can help reduce the lag you're experiencing.

In addition to what Templar has suggested, check too see if the controller has any sort of update and perform a power cycle on the console, that should reduce any lag a bit.
