Discus and support any way to revert a name change? in XBoX Accessibility to solve the problem; so basically my friends xbox account got hacked and they changed his username, he's had that account since he can remember and it was his dads account....     any way to revert a name change?


    so basically my friends xbox account got hacked and they changed his username, he's had that account since he can remember and it was his dads account. his dad recently passed so its a bit touchy for him but he cant change his name back because the original account name is longer than 12 characters. any way to revert the name change so he can have the original name back? willing to pay the name change fee aswell.

    Unfortunately there isn't a way to revert to a previous version, but have you tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling to see if there's any change?

    Unfortunately there's no way to revert or get another free gamertag change. You would have to pay if you want to change it again. As it's not a violation to have your real name as your gamertag (it's not recommended) that is mostly why they don't have a system to check that.

    Hi,

    I'm sorry to inform you that once the offline profile has been turned into an online profile there is no way to revert the changes. The offline profile you had named "Ben" is now named LGBZone. You should be able to change the gamertag by following the directions
    here, but if it's already been changed once for free you will need to pay to change it again. This is now unfortunately,
    an online profile now.

    Closing the Microsoft Account would make you lose the ability to manage the profile or download the profile onto the console again. It does not revert the changes. It would actually have a horrible adverse effect, and wouldn't do any good at all.

    Unfortunately, once name has been changed there is no way of reverting back. You would need to pay the amount to change the name again.

    Reverting and changing are two different processes. Paying for a name change doesn't resolve the issue that it states all usernames can be changed back into.
