Any way to recover a Seagate external hard drive (Xbox one)?

Have been using external hard drive for last couple of years, suddenly stopped being recognized by console three days ago. Have tried all suggestions from Microsoft support. It audibly powers on and LED light is on when plugged in, but will not show up under “Storage Devices”. Only a couple of years old.

Am I just out of luck?

    :)

I appreciate your effort. It's possible that it may be a cable issue but most likely to be a drive issue since it's also not being detected by your Mac device.

Our best option here is to contact Seagate for further assistance on how to fix their drive. They may recommend steps or tools you could use in fixing it.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes...followed all of the recommendations, other than trying a new USB cord (don't currently have another with a micro B end). Unfortunately, also do not own any Windows PC. I did try to plug the hard drive into a Mac to see if it would show up, and it did not.

Hi! I'm Rostom, an Independent Advisor. I will be glad to help you here.

Sorry to hear about what happened. May I confirm if you have tried all the solutions here on this link https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/... ?

To further isolate the issue, if possible, try to use a different external drive if your console reads it. You could also try connecting your external drive to a different console.

The best option to check if your external drive is still working is to connect it to a Windows PC. If it needs repair, I suggest that you ask assistance from Seagate to possibly keep or recover your files in it.

xbox360 external usb HDD still not any brand working?

Seagate hard drives are the only ones known to cause issues, but any other external hard drive should be fine. You can only use up to 2TB though.
