Any other series s owners feel like they have been let down with the framerate of new games

Discus and support Any other series s owners feel like they have been let down with the framerate of new games in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; It says 120fps on the box. But new games release at 30...... Kinda shady if you ask me... fos over high detail. Any day... Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by tom Raver, Jan 11, 2024.

it says up to 120 FPS. Unfortunately there are many things that happened behind the scenes of games that are extremely hardware intensive, especially in something like an open world game. Developers have to balance physics, fidelity, AI, logic, sound, and more.

Video games are not just the GPU. They're 100 plates spinning at once, only a handfull of which the user is actively aware of.

Yeah I know this. And i understand about the limited capability of the console. But the division 2 looks and feels great.. but its and old game and it plays much better than any from 2023.. except maybe dead island 2

No FPS Boost for Shadow of the Tomb Raider

After reinstalling, sadly not much seemed to change for some reason, as the 'high framerate' and 'high resolution' graphical modes give clear differences in performance, as high resolution doesn't feel 60FPS and high framerate changes the image quality, so it doesn't feel like it's optimised for Series X|S for me like it says it should (it also doesn't have the FPS boost still). Very odd.

Dying Light 2 only 30 fps on Series S... What a disgrace!

Just found out from Digital Foundry this shock news. The Series S is not even 18 months old and already it's under-powered when it comes to next-gen gaming. Disappointing to say the least. If Dying Light 2 can't manage 60 fps at 1080p, what does that mean for all the other games yet to release this year? If the series S isn't up to the task, then it's time for developers to say so, and maybe the price of new games should reflect this i.e. £49.99 instead of £59.99. The S isn't even achieving 1440p resolution in any of the games I play on my BENQ 1440p monitor. Talk about false marketing. I'm personally hoping that Dying Light 2 is just poorly optimized, especially since Far Cry 6 works brilliantly at delivering 60 fps on the S. As an owner of a Series S, I don't expect PS5/Series X quality, but expectations have been raised that Series S owners would get 60 fps on a consistent basis, albeit without ray tracing which I couldn't give two hoots about anyway. The boffins need to address this quickly, because the Series S looks like more of a liability than an asset at the moment. What a shame!
    New patch fixed fps ?

    Xbox series X upgrade

    Hi,

Online gaming on a console and a PC can have two types of latency:

Lag is when we are referring to internet connection/server latency. Owning the latest Xbox Series X|S won't fix this, if that's where the problem is.

Framerate and framerate drops are console hardware game specific. If the game is designed to run at 60fps, but there is a lot of things going on on screen this will result in dropped frames and can be seen during play as a stutter/judder, screen tearing and reduced controller responsiveness.

The Series X (and even the Series S) have much more capable hardware and generally won't drop frames in heavy area's like the now quite old Xbox One S does.
