    Any idea on how to fix a broken d-pad on an xbox one controller?


    So I have a controller that has a problem with the d-pad, it isn't entirely broken, it doesn't even seem broken upon first glance. The up button on the d-pad as well as the left have some resistance and stick up a bit more than the down and right button.
    I originally thought it would be due to heavy use of the right and down buttons, but the up button is also fairly unresponsive and doesn't work unless you press down fairly hard.

    It works better if you press the top right edge of the up button, you don't even have to press it that hard. So does that mean there is something stuck in the controller? How would I go about fixing something like that? Any advice
    would be appreciated.

    D-Pad Problems.

    Day one controller D-pad won't register input. So I can't even use it. Purchased a second controller now after minimal use it's acting just like my Day one controller!!!! The D-pad just won't register without having to push really hard. What the heck is
    going on with the D-Pad. Yes I updated the controller if you are wondering. Is there a thread with similar problems? I can't be the only one. Anyone have any tips on fixing this. If I can not fix it, I will just end up selling my xbox one. I really want to
    fix this problem. Anyone have a solution or pointers?

    New D-Pad is Garbage!

    I have had 2 of my controllers with the new "swivelling" D-Pad break on me in the last month. Why would you make a part of the controller that takes such a pounding more moveable than it already was! I was just playing Mortal Kombat, using the D-Pad, and
    as I was doing a special move, the D-Pad turned (not my intention) and just popped right out! The plastic piece broke, the pad itself broke in the middle. Now 2 of my controllers are broken, and my Xbox is still on warranty. But wait! The console is on warranty
    for a year, but the controllers that come in the same bundle are only on warranty for 90 days!!??!?!?! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!

    for the xbox one it would be my elite controller love the weight and the rubberized grips, for the 360 was the controller that the d-pad spun from a d-pad to a disc I don't really play any other consoles so lol

    Yeah, the pad that came packaged with my Slim definitely had a far superior d-pad to any other 360 pad I've used. I know what you mean about a different 'feel' but the difference is far too significant for that to be the case. I hoped that Microsoft had
    actually decided to update all their pads, but I spoke to a technician on here and he said that only the controller that shipped with the Slim had been 'specifically redesigned'. They've offered to send me a controller with the 'good' d-pad if I return my
    old (broken) one, but I don't know why they aren't commercially available.
