    Any downsides to using 120fps on XSX?


    Now that it's been out for a while and I don't see too many recent posts about it, are there any downsides to using 120fps on the Series X? Like, are there any games that do not have their own graphics setting between fps or rez that are forced into a lower resolution if you leave the console on 120fps? Personally I don't see the difference between 60 and 120 (im old) but I use it for the lesser input lag. I usually within games chooser higher rez over higher framerate, but that is changing- Forza 5 and GTA5 really seem to chug at higher rez 30fps so I have to choose higher framerate, and i generally do not notice a serious hit to resolution.

    I'm an Insider and a lot of people at work and stuff ask me this so please advise if you can. I generally say "use 120 if you can" but I would like to know if there are any exceptions. For example, some people on the Skyrim board say the game does not work right if you have 120fps on, but I never noticed a problem.

    Hi Sasa.

    In bandwidth theory yes, in reality most likely not. 1440p @ 120fps, gives your around 3,3 Gbps pr. channel in 10bit, and should land but the XsX will not output it if it does not detect HDMI 2.1.

    Xbox one s all digital

    One of the downsides to the digital version is you can't use any of your discs at all, even to transfer them

    I'm using XSX & Jbl Bar 9.1.

    Dolby Atmos gaming have Lag definitely compare with DTS, Lpcm 5.1&7.1.

    So I don't use Dolby Atmos with XSX despite of my SYSTEM.
