To cancel your Xbox Game Pass subscription, you must log into the Xbox.com account and go to the My Account section, then Services and Subscriptions. There is no commitment for the Xbox Game Pass and so it can be canceled at any time.

We thank you for bringing this inquiry to our forums community, and understand that this concerns your Xbox Live membership being cancelled after cancelling your subscription to Xbox Game Pass.

We would like to confirm that the subscription offered for $1 was not
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which offers both Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass which would therefore convert
your Xbox Live membership of 4 months into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If this was the subscription that you purchased, cancelling it would have cancelled the entirety of the subscription left.

Whenever you upgrade subscriptions, you are charged for the first full month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is added to the converted time from your previous subscription. Paying for the price difference between subscriptions is not possible.

• For example, if you had 90 days remaining of Xbox Game Pass for Console and converted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you'd have 68 days from your converted subscription + the first month you paid to upgrade.

While your subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (the second charge) can be canceled, and depending on availability, even refunded, there is no way to revert the conversion from other subscription plans to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Please note that canceling Xbox Game Pass Ultimate would also mean canceling the converted time from your previous subscription, which I'm afraid can't be refunded.

• For your reference, the following is mentioned in the "All about Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" FAQ page:

"Note - The upgrade of any prepaid time can’t be reverted to Xbox Game Pass plans or EA Play, and it’s not eligible for refund."

If you'd still like to cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, sign in at [ https://account.microsoft.com/services ], locate your subscription, and select Manage > Cancel Subscription.

If you’re eligible for a refund, you’ll see an option to cancel immediately with a refund.

• Doing this would cancel both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and the converted time from your previous subscription.

• Any refund issued would only be for the month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate you paid to do the upgrade.

If you are referring to losing Xbox Live Gold because you cancelled Game Pass Ultimate, there is nothing that can be done. It clearly states that Xbox Live Gold will be converted to Game Pass Ultimate days and can not be reverted and that canceling Game
Pass Ultimate will cancel out the converted Xbox Live Gold. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing/xbox-subscriptions/xbox-game-pass-ultimate-faq

You can cancel your Game Pass Ultimate membership at any time, and you will
continue to have access to your Ultimate benefits until your prepaid time ends, at which point you will not be charged again.

Note The upgrade of any prepaid time to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cannot be reverted back to Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass, and you cannot receive a refund for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game
Pass. You can, however, rejoin Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass when your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription ends
