Another post about Xbox One S internet speed

The xbox will always appear to have lower speeds, it should download still quite fast, but its still limited to the amount it can handle in and out.

Your network point on the console might not be capable of handling anything above 400mb/s

The slow downloads of games could also potentially be server side limitations.

I know there are hundreds of posts already about the issue of Internet speed on Xbox, however none of the replies has provided an coherent answer or all the element that could contribute to speed was not listed by poster, so on that note

1. Internet provided FIOS

2. Plan 940 Download / 880 Upload max

3. Connection to Xbox via wired Ethernet port 4 feet away

4. Cable CAT6

5. Changed the DNS to both Cloudflare and Google DNS servers

5. No other devices is utilizing the bandwidth

6. Site to test the connection speed: www.verizon.com/speedtest/

The test:

I connect the cable from Router to Ethernet port of MacBook. Utilizing the speed test site, I pretty much on average get these speeds on MacBook:

Download: 920 Mbps

Upload: 800 Mbps

I then get the same cable by removing it from MacBook and attaching it to Xbox. I then used the same same site via Xbox Edge browser and these are best results I can get:

Download: 281 Mbps

Upload: 41 Mbps

I have switched back and forth between Mac and Xbox by using the same cable and different times of the day but the results are pretty much the same.

Any feedback is appreciate it.

Hmm, ok. So what about real world applications- what speed does it report in My Games and Apps queue while actually downloading games etc, is that the same too?

Thanks for the response. The results are pretty much the same with Xbox Detailed Network statistics. I have tried this test on multiple days and time of the day.

The nature of the speed test may also provide differing results.

Most speed tests offer a choice of multiple parallel file downloads or single file(most useful when testing vpn), and usually allow you to select a specific geographical gateway (preferably the closest to your physical location) thus giving the most preferential
results.

The console, however, does it's own test, and I have no obvious way of determining which if any of the above variables are involved.

This may account for differing results, especially since using edge via the console isn't exactly optimum.

What does the network test via the settings produce by way of results
