    Another Home button problem (working partially)


    Hi All,

    I saw few post all over internet about Xbox one S controller home button issue but I have something little different. Home button do not work while console is on - I have tried reset, unplug etc. with no joy. However, when console is off I can turn it on
    with that controller home button (so it is working is some way!), while Xbox is on, home button is unresponsive again. I have another controller working fine. Any thoughts how to fix it?

    Hi there Rzaba,



    Thanks for the reply! I understand there is an issue with the Xbox One system performance. I recommend trying a
    power cycle
    of the console by disconnecting the power cable.



    If the problem persists, try doing a soft factory reset of the console,
    Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    If you have another controller working fine the issue is in the controller.

    About repairing, the Microsoft doesnt repair anymore the controllers, if you have bought the controller with or without the console in a retail shop and you have their warranty still available you should get to them.

    Hi rzaba,

    Have you checked the firmware is up to date?

    Update the Controller Firmware

    Your Xbox One controller actually has firmware that receives updates at times. It doesn’t get them often, but a corrupted or outdated firmware could cause disconnection issues.

    If your controller is functional, you can update it by tapping the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to System > Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories. Select your controller, then choose Ellipsis
    menu > Firmware version to check for updates.
