What he asked me is below, I just want to know if there is a risk in me helping him with the favor. I'd like to but I also want to be safe thanks in advance if you answer.

"If u don t mind helping me , a friend of mine gave me a gift but i can t redeem it since i m not living in the U.S , but if you log my account on your xbox since you re in the U.S, it will work 4 me but if u don t feel like helping i understand "

Hi there Derick welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. If you don't trust him do not do it, that's the code for the whole internet also, how is he going to get the points? We cannot interchange Microsoft Points, or maybe he wants you to buy a game as a gift, still I wouldn't do it if I didn't know this person.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are requesting a free Gamertag change, as this free change was consumed by your younger sibling.

When you first create a your Xbox Live Profile on your Xbox, you are automatically given a randomly generated Gamertag.

This is something that you would have the opportunity to change once for free, if you haven't yet consumed this promo.

If you had already changed your Gamertag for free before, as per the new
Gamertag update FAQ, you would be able to change it once more for free via
thislink, however, only if you are eligible.

If you are unable to use any of these options, we here on the Xbox Forums do not have the necessary tools to be able to assist you further on this. Xbox Customer Support is also not equipped with these tools.
