Why do so many ambassadors reply to threads without a chance for the OP to respond?

They've been using ambassadors for chat support for some time now. So in a way, they kind of were.

If things are still the same as they used to be Ambassadors earn rewards by getting XP and a place on a leaderbord for verified answers etc.

Hence it’s a scramble for that XP.

There may be a reason you see more than the usual amount of Ambassadors on the forums as I believe their live chat option hasn’t worked for months so getting that XP is more difficult.

Very frustrating, as an ambassador you are supposed to only reply if you have something extra to add not to repeat the same answer as a previous one. It doesn't help the OP when that happens and looks bad.

 

So what you are trying to say is the ambassadors shouldn't be helping the rest of the community then.

Im not bothered with XP and rewards as it most probably not even available in my region.

 

Not at all, Ambassadors offer a decent source of information here on the forums and elsewhere.

However as IRB stated seeing the same answer posted over and over helps nobody.

 

Everyone is just trying to help the best they can, yet fellow ambassadors are correct, repeating the same answer doesn't help the OP

 

Oh, I see your point and totally agree.

As a general (personal) rule, I avoid adding posts if solution - or the same amdwer I’d give - is already there.

Also, there are very competent Ambassadors in various sections (hardware, games, network, etc...) that can help for any problem. Certainly, seeing the usual answers written at random doesn't help, but we'll work hard for this.

 

Agree with you. It is poor to see the same answer on 1 post 10 times, just because of getting XPs.

 

Sometimes when you are responding, there was no other posts showing. You type your response, add a link, hit reply and boom, there are two, three, or four others who have replied within a short period. The frustrating ones are those that just post "contact
support" and no further information, or parrot the same answer hours after.

 

Sadly it's the way the ambassador system is set up. We have targets to hit every day and limited ways to complete them. If we get an extra muslin requiring a lot of tickets to complete it, then you see a surge of ambassadors answering things to meet there
goals. There are a lot of ambassadors and only so many threads to respond too.

I try to do my tickets through the twitter responder as that way you answer one at a time and only when you get a response from the OP. But it can also be a problem collecting those tickets also. At the end of the day we all are here to help people.

 

I agree with Njal the Blue most of the time when it happens to me is when there is no responses and im typing out a long response and hit post and 2-3 other people have already posted.

Unless I have something to add or possibly a different way to do something I will not post the same thing someone else has already said.
