Amazon Prime App keeps going dark

That's odd, may I know if you tried changing your Xbox resolution to see how it goes?
Also, in case you have HDR active, please turn it off temporarily and test.

Besides reinstalling the app did you tried something else? Or is that all?
In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed.

If changing the resolution and disabling HDR doesn't work. Please perform a power cycle for your device:
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

You would look for an Amazon Prime app in the store on the console, download it from there, and then sign into the app with your Amazon account.
