Am I supposed to get points for purchases and renewing my gold status?

In order to receive credits, your purchases either have to be eligible for a specific offer on the site at the time, or you need at least 1 star level in order to receive VIP rebates. All offers for earning credits are listed on the Missions page of the
site. The breakdown is just to show ways you may have previously earned credits. Some of the offers listed on the breakdown are no longer available.

As of July 1, 2014, there are no offers to receive credits for renewing gold.

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP. MyVIP has a recalibration every year. At the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from
the previous year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December 2016. Since you are a zero star member, you do not get payback Credits on your purchases. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (https://rewards.xbox.com/myrewards/).

For example, since you are a zero star member, you do not yet get MyVIP payback for your purchases. However, your purchases completed an offer in March (Simply Rewarding), and your purchasing was rewarded via that offer. For reference, you can see a record
of all your Credit and Deposit activity on the MyStatement on the MyRewards page. We do not award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals, and have not since 2014.

I bought a 12 month card to renew my subscription at full price. It was purchased on April 10th and at the time there was a 600 microsoft point bonus for renewing that I was supposed to get in 6-8 weeks.

When does your Gold renew? The points don't get deposited or credited until your Gold subscription renews itself. Not at the point of purchase. :]

Yes i am talking about Microsoft reward points, i was wondering is it supposed to immediately be in effect as soon as it says i purchased it? I got it about 2 weeks ago. My renewal was today.
