Am I stupid or can you no longer double tap the sync button to sync back to the Xbox

So,

I have connected my Series X controller to my PC and Xbox.

I want to be able to switch between the two, without having to touch my PC or Xbox each time, and put the controller into pairing mode. I found this feature mentioned over several websites:

“Once you’re successfully paired, switching between your devices is easy. To get back to your Xbox, double-tap the sync button. To use a secondary device, press and hold the sync button for around two seconds. The Xbox button will blink once or twice before turning solid to indicate that you are paired.”

So, if I’m connected to my PC, can I only go back to my Xbox by double tapping the sync button?

Because double tapping the sync button does nothing right now.

You're correct that this is a feature for the Xbox Series X controller. Basically, your secondary device is the PC which you just need to press and hold the sync button for around two seconds.

Yes, to re-sync it to your Xbox simply double-tap the sync button.

Make sure to perform a powercycle on your Xbox if double-tapping didn't work.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

Double tap the sync button on the controller, then try connecting the controller to the console.

Ok, I seem to have figured it out, but I dunno if it's supposed to work this way. I double-tap the sync button and it switches to PC1. I hold the sync button for a second and it switches to PC2.

Continue to hold the SYNC and EJECT button, just tap the POWER button
