    Am I spoiled by GFN? Xbox streaming is.. underwhelming


    For the past 6 months I've been an avid Geforce Now user (3080 subscription) and have noticed that compared to my rig (ryzen 2600, 16GB, 3080 RTX) GFN actually offers me a higher FPS at what as a non competitive gamer I'd describe as unnoticable latency.

    This week I decided to give Xbox Game Pass Ultimate streaming a go since it had some titles included which I'd like to play, and I confess.. I find it underwhelming.

    I'm using the Nvidia Shield Pro and with some tweaks got the Xbox Game Pass app installed. Navigating is quite a drag. A lot of images are very unclear (on a 4k TV), often my cursor disappears and I can't see where I'm scrolling.

    Then the streaming quality itself: 1080p at a bitrate that is very obviously lower than GFN. Sure the Xbox alternative is $6 cheaper per month, but honestly.. 1080p and darker areas being quite blocky because of the low bit rate? I respectfully decline, downgrade to xbox game pass basic, and will instead install those games to my physical hardware.

    Did I miss something and are there hidden options to enable 4k at higher bitrates? or is this just the result of the platform (powered by actual Xbox hardware) being completely crushed by Nvidia's GFN (which uses 3080ish hardware with quite powerful CPU and RAM too)?

    There is no built in streaming to the Xbox 360 console. Using the Elgato or another capture card would be the easiest way to stream that content. I agree, the built in streaming for Xbox One and Windows 10 is pretty great and can spoil you, but it's
