    Hello everyone,

    I recently set up a new PC, and changed a my password for my Microsoft OneDrive login. I have 2 factor authentication set up, and received the verification codes to both of my devices, and was able to reset the password. I then attempted to login to my Microsoft account with the password that I normally use for that account, and had not changed that password at all. When I attempted to use that password, I was prompted that it was incorrect. I then attempted to use the new OneDrive password that I had just created, and was prompted that that password was also incorrect. So I attempted to reset the password another time. I chose the methods of verification that I used before, but no verification codes were sent to either device. I then received an email from Microsoft saying that all of my account passwords needed to be updated, and they signed me out of my Microsoft Account, and my Xbox Live Gamertag. I now have no way to sign back in to these accounts. I have put thousands of dollars into my games and Xbox Live account, and now have no access to the years of time I spent building up this account. I have tried every channel of support through Microsoft, and have found nothing that is in the least bit helpful. I attempted an account recovery, and was sent an email from Microsoft saying that it was ignored because I have 2FA set up. I would really appreciate some kind of useful guidance as to how I can recover my account. It seems unrealistic to me that after two failed password attempts, that I would be locked out of my account with not way to recover it. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    From there you can use a new email address to recover your account and have the Microsoft team contact you.

    I recommend that you answer all the questions and do not leave any unanswered. It is important to follow the step by step process to recover your account. It can take up to 24 hours for the Microsoft team to review your account recovery request and contact you directly.

    Customer services can not help with accounts that have been suspended or banned permanently.

    I am pretty sure that once an account has been permanently banned the associated gamertag is locked to it.

    how am i able to do that when my account is locked? I can't even reach that page. I just get an error. they also never stated my account was permanently banned. they just said it was locked and I can still log into the Xbox app and play my games on the
    console I'm homed to. I'm not even sure if it is locked at this point.
