Am I only be able to play f2p games and nothing more?

I wanted to purchase a game on my Xbox series S. (Either just the game or game pass). So I inserted all my details until it asked for postal code - which I wrote, however, it did not approve it because it was not a US postal code.

So the question arises - how can I buy games? Because in the drop down list of countries (where I currently have US) there is not the country I am from. Can I take a country that is next to it? But it still would not solve the postal code issue. That`s what I think at least.

Also, Series S has no disc input. So everything must be bought online. And if I am unable to do so because I am unable to select the correct region I just spent my money on a console that I can only play f2p games on?

Usually you select the country you are located in, if your country isn't available it means that your country is not supported, which means that there is no guarantee that things will work properly.
Also keep in mind that any payment option that will be used to purchase items will need to match the region on your console (and usually also your account region)

The Xbox Series S is digital only, so you will need a payment option that matches the selected region on the console in order to purchase items on the store, payment options can be different per region.

When located in a region that is not supported this will have challenges and issues. We can't really suggest any possible workarounds, since these are the official forums.

If it is an online only game like that isn't on the100 f2p list https://www.xbox.com/en-CA/games/free-to-play

Then yes like every single other console including sony and Nintendo it is a paid subscription unless its f2p

Offline games can be played without but not the multiplayer aspect just like every other console

Only Nintendo is cheaper and sony charges a lot more

i didn’t know this i’ve never needed to pay for online multiplayer before as i only played f2p games and i thought if i bought the game i would be able to play it. a disclaimer that this is not the case would’ve been nice before i spent 50$

LOL. Yeah it's F2P, but it's better than nothing. Last MechWarrior was 10 years ago or something like that. Still for a F2P game it looks promising.

^ I think F2P games can and do offer loads of quality, obviously it's only going by my own experience with some.

Take Warframe for example, I've played it on both PS4 and XB1, between the two version I'm definitely over 100 hours of game time.

In my opinion it's one fantastic game, in fact one of my favourite new gen games so far especially when played with people you know.

I say we need more F2P games like this!
