It seems that the post-migration process was a one-time offer that allowed users to migrate their Mojang account to a Microsoft account and receive a free copy of Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. If you completed the post-migration process before the December 18th deadline, you should have received a confirmation email from Mojang that granted your Microsoft account an entitlement to Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Regarding your refund request, it's possible that your refund was denied because you purchased the game before completing the post-migration process. According to the Microsoft Store's refund policy, you can only receive a refund for a game if you have not played it and the request is made within 14 days of purchase . If you have already submitted multiple refund requests and they were all denied, it's unlikely that you will be able to receive a refund for the game.

As for having two copies of Minecraft on the same account, it's not possible to have two copies of the same game on one account. You would need to create a separate Microsoft account and purchase the game again on that account.

I have the same problem on my son's newly purchased copy of Minecraft Xbox One Edition. The problem is he can't play the game without downloading the FREE! update. But it's not free when you get directed to the Xbox store. So frustrating! How can
we get around this? otherwise we'll be bringing it back to the store for a refund.

The disc-based version is no longer being updated. If you bought a used copy of the game, and the store allows you to return it, I would do so, then buy "Minecraft" digitally from the Microsoft Store.

1. They would have to purchase Minecraft for the PC in order to play it on the PC.

2. They can use the same account the use on the console. Not all games allow you to use the same saves cross-platform though, so depending on the game they will have to re-purchase for the PC and/or start a new save on the PC.

I'm sorry to hear your refund request was denied. If you haven't replied to the email you received from the Refund Team yet to appeal their decision and explain yourself better as to why you wanted your subscription refunded I highly recommend replying to their email so your refund request will be re-opened, and hopefully, they'll give you consideration based on your reasons.

like with all other gaming systems, does not matter how many copies of the game you have, all minecraft games require a microsoft account to login, you can only have ONE instance of an account logged in, why would you need to run minecraft on 2 systems at the same time, if its to play with a friend then that friend will need their own account.
