    Allowing multiplayer in Minecraft doesn't work


    I've set every permission through Xbox to allow my daughter to play multiplayer on Minecraft, yet she still can't use multiplayer. When she opens Minecraft, the multiplayer button is unclickable with a message telling her that her account settings need to be changed.

    I changed all the account settings already, though. Under the "Xbox and Windows 10 devices Online Safety," I set every setting to "allow," just like I did for her brother. Her brother can use multiplayer but she can't. He's 13 and she's 12. I don't know what else to do - she can't play with him or her friends.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    If I may ask, is your daughter on Xbox or PC? This will determine the next step that we have to perform.

    Also, if she is on Xbox console, please note that she'll need an Xbox Game Pass Core (formerly known as Xbox Live Gold) or any Xbox Game Pass subscription plan to play online. This is the same if she is playing on a different console platform.

    If she is on PC, please sign in first on a different account such as her brother's account on the launcher then quit the launcher before signing back in to her Microsoft account. This is to refreh or sync the changes that were made.

    If you're on an Xbox console, do you also have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription? Because it is required to play an online multiplayer game.

    Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

    Hi, thanks for taking your time to help me! I just bought the account yesterday and had some errors with the parental allowance so I tried changing the birth date in order to buy it. It worked but then the previous issues came in, which now also disappeared after doing nothing. I guess it took a while to process the changes, but it works now! Thanks for your help!

    Have you recently made changes on your account birthdate?

    Try reinstalling the game to see if that helps. Log out and log back in to the game.
