Allow my 7 year old kid to join our Minecraft Bedrock server!

So my daughter is using a win 10 computer, and when she joined the server, I had to allow here to join the server.

The pc told me to log into aka.ms/accountsettings, but i couldn't do that

Advanced diagnostics: Enable
If you plan on getting support for an issue, turn this on and try to reproduce the error. This will collect additional information that will help troubleshoot the issue.

This took a long to figure out. I got it working by using a different computer to log into the aka.ms site. Not the daughters pc, but a third one.

Then i found out how to enable her access rights.

Now my 7 year old son wants to join us on his IPad. So he needs a Xbox account and we create one for him, and put me in as the father.

Next problem. When we try to join the server: "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up."

So i log into the third computer, and into aka.ms, and see David appeared, but i cannot give him rights to join Minecraft, because the only devices available are Windows 10, XBox and Android devices.

I tried to install xbox app on the ipad, but that was useless as expected.

So how can we allow him to play? I guess i can create a new account, and tell it he is 27 years old? I do not want to do that.

So the link you provided told me 2 things.

1: The computer i use right now, when i log into that page using my normal email and password, i get a different XBox account, than when i log in using the exact same email and password on my other computer. Go figure.

2: When i log into the account on my other computer, the text tells me to go to XBox settings -> Privacy and online safety.

Well, i have at the top: Microsoft Office Windows Surface Xbox Deals Support More, and then a shopping cart and my Xbox account name

Second line is XBOX Home Profile Friends Messages My games Clubs Trending on Xbox Live Deals

So.....

Going to second line, Profile (because XBox settings -> Private and online safety sound like Profile !? no - sorry - bad joke)

I have to login again(?), and then i am at Account.microsoft.com. I guess Microsoft get paid for each domain a visitor goes to (sorry - another bad joke). Under Family, i can see my son and daughter.

Selecting my son brings me to a screen with his name, Child on second line with his email

Then these options: Activity | Screen time | App and game limits | More options

Notice how after the On button, there should be some options. There is for my daugther, but the settings are tied to a device, and you cannot add the ipad as a device.

If you create Microsoft Accounts for your children, with your account listed as the Parent account, you can

manage their permissions from the Privacy and Online Safety Settings page. That will set their accounts for what they can and cannot access. Once you have it set so they can play online and access, depending on the settings for the Bedrock server, you
may need to then add them to be able to access the server specifically.

i run a minecraft server and for my kids to access it via xbox one they require the ip, thats it, even their friends join, basically only people i trust. but yes you can use an ip only. on minecraft for xbox, phone, switch, playstation and pc.

i use the bedrock server software.
