Allow Downgrade from Gamepass Ultimate to Gold

Xbox Live Gold is included in Xbox Gamepass Ultimate. You would only need to resubscribe for Xbox Live Gold if you were to downgrade from Gamepass Ultimate later.

No you don't need to cancel the subscription, you will simply need to wait the natural expiration.

From what you have written I think that you have a Gamepass Ultimate (which already includes all Gold benefits), therefore your only way to have only an active gold is this:

- cancel the recurring billing for Gamepass Ultimate (already done)

- wait until the natural expiration of Gamepass Ultimate

- Buy a Gold Membership Card or activate the gold subscription on the xbox store

Unfortunately there is no way to make a direct downgrade from Gamepass Ultimate to Gold

It depends on what you did to try to downgrade. In order to downgrade from Ultimate to just a standard Gold subscription, you would need to cancel Ultimate (or wait for the subscription to run out). Once it has completed ended, then you add a new Gold subscription.

If you tried to downgrade by adding a standard Gold subscription, the Gold would have been converted to Ultimate instead of changing the type of subscription. Then by cancelling Ultimate, you cancelled everything.

Keep in mind gamepass does NOT include gold.

Gamepass itself only allows access to the games that is it not multiplayer
