Allow daughter to access Minecraft Realms

    Hi,

I'm getting really frustrated and confused about managing my daughter's child account in the whole Microsoft Live/XBox/Minecraft for Windows 10/Microsoft Family/Windows 10 soup.

I'm basically trying to allow my daughter to access the Microsoft Realms world that I've subscribed to. She launches Minecraft and is logged into her own XBox account. This is on a Windows 10 computer where she's logged into Windows using a Microsoft Live
(Child) account which is part of a Family of which I am an Adult member.

When she goes to "Friends" tab, the Realms section says "You cannot play on Realms because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy adn online safety settings on aka.ms/accountsettings.

I've gone to aka.ms/accountsettings which redirects to https://account.xbox.com/en-US/Settings (via the login page; ?? should we be logging in has my daughter or as myself
(adult member) at this point? - I'm assuming adult member). From here I can manage my daughter's Privacy and Online settings. However, whatever I set Minecraft stubbonly refuces to allow her to play on Realms.

Ideally, I would like to allow her to only play on MY realm but I'm guessing this is out of the question? It's all or nothing.

So these are her privacy settings FWIW:

    ** PRIVACY TAB **

    [Daughter's XBox GamerTag] can:

    • See other people's Xbox Live profiles: Friends
    • You can use video for communications: Friends
    • You can see and upload community creations: Friends
    • You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text: In-game friends

    Others can:

    • Others can see your Xbox profile details: Friends
    • Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites; Friends
    • Others can see your friends list: Block
    • Others can see if you're online: Friends
    • Others can see your game and app history: Friends
    • Others can see your captures on Xbox Live: Friends
    • Others can see your club memberships: Block
    • Others can see your activity feed: Block

    ** XBox One/Windows 10 online Safety tab **

    [Daughter's XBox GamerTag] can:

    • You can play with people outside of Xbox Live: Allow
    • You can create and join clubs: Block (don't even know what a "club" is)
    • Broadcast gameplay: Block
    • You can upload captures to Xbox Live: Allow
    • You can share content made using Kinect or another camera: Block
    • Others can share your content to social networks: Block
    • You can join multiplayer games: Block
    • You can add friends: Allow

We've never had an XBox One or XBox 360. We've got multiple Windows 10 laptop/PCs and my daughter has her own Windows 10 login controlled by Microsoft Family.

Can anyone help advise on how I can get her to link to my realm?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    :)

Minecraft Realms uses "Clubs" for invitations / membership so you need to enable that for her to access them. Also you need to allow multiplayer games.

    Hello

    I have two suggestions

1- Make sure you sign the profile out and back in again once you've made changes on the account so that they can take affect.

2- This is my set up for my son and it works well. Maybe it will work for you folks.

Go to account.xbox.com website. Log in under your account.

Go to "privacy & online safety" page.

on the page you should see your profile and your child(s).

click on the child profile pic, it should be green now.

click the "Xbox One Online Safety" tab.

Allow everything but "buy and download".

    Click save at the bottom!

click the "Xbox 360 Online Safety" tab.

allow the first 2 "Accept Friend Requests" and "Online Gameplay".

    make sure you click save.

Xbox has stolen my money? Please tell me that Xbox has not turned into thieves!

It may just be taking the servers a while to catch up and allow you to access the minecraft realms.

    Minecraft

Is it a realm? Or a world hosted on someones console? If it's on the console, the Xbox would need to be left on and the world opened in Minecraft and running to allow others to access it. If it's a Realm, then that is a subscription and the user would
have to continue to pay that cost to keep the Realm hosted and accessible. That person who owns the realm would be able to manage permissions for people who have access and who do not. Are you in contact with the owner of the world/realm?
