Allow child to add friends and play online minecraft android

I want my child to be able to join her friends

I believe you have to allow them to create and join clubs as well. After you change all the parental settings you have to log out and back in. I did this through the Microsoft account and still got the error. Then I went into minecraft, settings and logged
them out of Microsoft from there and back in. All of a sudden it worked. Now my kids are playing in a world together. I hope this helps!

is your child trying to add an Xbox user or someone from PlayStation? if your child is trying to it is not possible to send a friend request to someone on a PS4 via Xbox. you can communicate
with people outside Xbox if you have the right privacy setting enabled but you can't add them. if you want your child to be able or not able to communicate with people outside Xbox. change the setting that's in the picture.

Solved it myself...

After amending the settings on xbox webpage (both the privacy tab and the windows 10/xbox tab) it still would not work.

Signed each profile into an xbox console and added each child as a friend there. Once that was done minecraft allowed me to add each child as friends of one another on the game.

Odd since no intention of using on xbox only android but it works so 🤷

Basically, you have to sign in to account.xbox.com with the adult account, then go to Profile > Privacy Settings, then click the game name of your child, There are then lots of options.

Select the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab

At the bottom, change Add Friends to Allow and click Submit.

At this point, Minecraft still will not allow you to add friends. You have to actually sign out of Microsoft and sign back in again. It's no good just closing Minecraft and opening again!

In Minecraft, go back to the main screen, then click Profile.

Click the Cog wheel, to go to User Profile and Settings.

Click Sign out of your Microsoft Account.

Click Sign Out.

Then click Sign in for Free!

Click Save to Microsoft Account (if you want, probably better than Leave on Device)

It should then take you to the Microsoft sign-in screen. If it doesn't, try leaving Minecraft and starting it again.

Sign in, then click Let's Play!

Hopefully, you'll now be able to add friends.
