    Allocating more VRam For Gaming

I have a Legion 5 Pro laptop with a RTX 3060 Laptop GPU and AMD Radeon Integrated graphics. Recently I was playing Halo Infinite and was adjusting the quality presets when I saw that the game takes up a whopping 13 Gb of VRAM storage! I couldn't believe how much of a resource hog this game was but I thought to myself I have 10 gb of shared, dedicated GPU memory and should be able to use that to play the game at high settings. However, I don't know if this is possible, as my RTX has 6.0 gb of VRAM and my Integrated graphics has 4, am I crazy to think this is possible and if it is possible, what program would I use to use these GPU's both at the same time?

    :)

The integrated graphics doesn't actually have 4GB of it's own VRAM. It gets its video memory from the much slower system RAM. When the dedicated graphics are engaged, you are tied to the amount VRAM your dedicated graphics card, the mobile RTX 3060 has. You can't add more VRAM to this.

To improve performance you'll need to drop settings down. The texture settings would be the first thing to change.

    Video ram

what you are seeing there is that your graphics have 120MB of dedicated vram, which in these days is poor, the system allocates an amount of normal ram that can be used with the graphics but this does not act and vram.

    Hi,

You can't 'create' VRAM. Video memory is fixed in hardware. If your graphics card has 4GB, it has 4GB and that can not be increased. The only way to get more would be a graphics card with more VRAM.

You can reduce VRAM usage by.

    • Reducing the game resolution
    • Using lower graphics settings, especially texture settings/resolution
