all my xbox messages are gone or deleted

I've had the same thing happen to me awhile back, and yeah it's just a weird Microsoft glitch.
I was never able to recover my messages though.

I already lost all my Starfield saves now. It somehow deleted all my local files with this message and synced that to the cloud. After the Quick Resume was cleared, everything was gone. :-(

If you look in the Xbox App, Smartglass or here on Xbox.com, do you see any messages or are those blank too? What about on Xbox 360 (you can start a backwards compatible game to check these, hit Menu+View to open the Xbox 360 Guide)?

To my knowledge once you delete a message, its gone.

Bonjour! Apologies for the confusion here. Those steps are to reset the original Xbox app on your Windows 10 computer, not your console. The power cycle effectively resets your console and clears the cache which is why that helped bring your messages
back.

Désolée encore! If your console messages disappear, try that power cycle to bring them back there.

Sorry Miss, but there must be some kind of misunderstanding, there, no? Because even on the Xbox App, the regular one not the beta, I can't find what you're asking me to find. I do find the 'settings' button, but right after, no 'system' option is here.

Even though, nowhere I find a trace of reset button for the App, I can't find a single place where the word 'App' appears. Strange thing we don't see the same things.
