Microsoft can but won't offer discounts on new releases because it hurts the retail partners that sells its consoles, e.g., Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, etc. If MS offers discounts for new release digital purchases, retail stores have less incentive to carry
the games. If the stores aren't carrying the games, what incentive do they have to carry the console. MS needs these stores to sell the consoles.

This is no different for Sony.

The less the game sells for new, the less stores like Amazon or Gamestop will give you on trade in.

The Microsoft store does not sell the Xbox One cable individually, only with the console. They do sell the Xbox 360 HDMI, but they're currently out of stock.

There are people that sell them on Ebay and Amazon, so you can check there to see if someone is selling one for a price that you're willing to pay.

Any HDMI cable will work for the Xbox One though, but if you want the one that says Xbox on it, then Ebay and Amazon are your best bet for now.

Amazon sells converters that will take an hdmi input and conert it to a format that you need. However, doing this will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the video image and quality as I assume that your tv with no hdmi input is either an old tuner tube or a monitor meant
for pc. If it's a monitor that takes the standard vga cable, then you'll be ok. I say Amazon for the converter as I do not shop locally, another story for another time, but Best Buy may carry them....at a significantly increased price.
