    All Games missing from My Collection in Xbox PC app after backup restore of game drive


    I recently had a hard disk problem and restored a recent backup of the drive I use for the XBox for PC game files. The WindowsApps folder exists on the drive after the restore and the file size is correct (indicates the game files are there) but the games no longer show up in My Collection on the app. Is there a way to "relink" the games. I did make sure that Settings->General->Game Install Options is pointing to the correct drive. Really hope I don't have to reinstall everything. Thx.

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    There is no way to link these games with the app but it may be possible to take advantage of the space the game is already taking up on your hard drive. Try installing any game on that hard drive and see if the installation will be slightly faster and will take advantage of files already downloaded onto the hard drive.

    DELETE/RESET XBOX MUSIC CLOUD COLLECTION

    Warning have a backup of you local PC collection.

    READ entire post before trying.

    I shut off all cloud features on all my tablets, phone and PC's.

    Logged out of Music on everything but my main PC.

    Went to collection on my Windows 8.1 PC.

    Filtered by cloud.

    Selected first song (so check mark is on the right side) and used shift and arrow down to select entire collection.

    The menu from below appears and I chose delete.

    Even though I only had cloud music selected it automatically deleted off hard drive also.

    I had many backups on other hard drives so I was ready for this.

    I went to recycle bin and restored.

    I have no music in the cloud now.

    I did all this because of the commercials.

    I am an old PC tech that has ripped my own (bought and paid for) CDs for many years.

    I not listening to the commercials or paying MS to use this app.

    The App is pretty MS, so thanks.

    Manage Xbox Music Cloud, without using the Music App

    AJLawless, try this:

    Backup your music

    Turn on the cloud toggles in Xbox Music on Surface

    Give it an hour or so to sync up

    Delete all music from your surface using the controls provided in the Music app

    Give it an hour to sync the deletions to your cloud

    Turn off the cloud toggles

    Restore your collection from your backup

    Can I backup game saves to a cloud with Microsoft Store?

    the majority of the store and xbox app games don't use cloud saves, you need to backup manually.

    i use the following program to backup all saves on pc before doing a refresh. make sure to backup to a folder and copy that folder to an external storage area, then use the same app to restore them.

    i take no responsibility for any data loss though.

    Xbox 360 stopped playing music

    Alright for anyone running into my problem this is the solution.

    1. Make a backup of your hard drive then format it on your pc.

    2. Disconnect from live

    3. Go to Setting - System - Storage - Hard drive - games and apps

    4. Delete Xbox Media Player

    5. Put backup back onto hard drive.

    6. Music should work (at least it did for me).
