    Aliens vs Predator (Xbox 360) - servers closed?


    For over a month now, matchmaking for Aliens vs Predator on the Xbox 360 has been down. Selecting “Xbox live” from the main menu brings up a notice that a connection to Xbox Live could not be established.

    Have the servers for this game been officially shutdown? Was there any notice that this was going to happen?

    I note that this was a problem in December 2021. At the time this problem was across multiple Xbox 360 titles and did get resolved as I played AVP online in the first half of 2022.     it is not up to microsoft, apart from first party titles that microsoft create all others have there servers operated and paid for by the devs/publishers of the game, microsoft do not pay for these servers and have no control over them.

    basically nearly all third party games host and pay for their own servers. if they want to shut them down they can do, especially if the game in question is fairly old now.

    You could be right, the last time the servers were down in December 2021, there was a thread here in Microsoft support which is why I created another one now.

    I also hope Microsoft wouldn’t do such a **** move like shutting down the AVP servers without notice.
