Alan Wake issue

I had purchased Quantum Break on the One, which gave me a code for Alan Wake. I redeemed the code, it shows up in my Xbox One library, but on my 360, it's asking me to buy it again. Why is this happening, and how can I fix it without having to purchase it?

I loved Alan Wake so would very much welcome Alan Wake 2.

There was discussions of a Remaster of Alan Wake but MS have put out a statement saying they are focusing on Quantum Break but I can't see why not.

Absolutely nothing concrete but im optimistically creating a thread as i would really, really like to see this get made, i loved Alan Wake and the prototype video above looks great, would love to see a sequel announced at E3 :lease:

For some Xbox 360 codes, when redeemed on Xbox One, the game can only be downloaded on Xbox One and not on an Xbox 360 console. I'm not entirely sure why, but redeeming on the Xbox One means that it does not show up in your Xbox 360 download history so the
older console does not recognise that you own, and can thus download, the game.

You'll still be able to download and play the game on Xbox One.

I hope this clarifies things.

 

This does clarify the problem, yes, but doesn't help me resolve the issue.

it sounds like I'll have to contact Microsoft directly about it.

 

Just got through talking with xbox support chat for quite a while.

The closest I could get to a resolution was as follows:

1) Set the 360 you want the game downloaded to, to your main 360. that is, when you select to download anything from say the website, its automatically put on the download queue on that xbox.

2) Go to your purchase history on the website and (if you had the same problem as me), you should be able scroll down the list until you find Alan Wake. Select download again.

and that's pretty much it. For some reason, support said that the code that I redeemed was redeemed not using my account, which I know for a fact is not true. also, when I go to any store page for it, like here for example (marketplace.xbox.com/.../66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d530805),
it still wants me to buy it. The only explanation given to me by support was that it is most likely a glitch in their system.

So, in short term, this problem is solved. But long term, if I want Alan Wake on any other 360, I have to do this all over again.

If anyone with this same problem actually gets Alan Wake to register as purchased on their account, please contact me as to how you did it.
