    Age of Empires III from GfWL


    I purchased Age of Empires III several years ago on the Games for Windows Live marketplace. The downloads from the GfWL client have been broken for years. Did Microsoft ever provide a new way to download the games purchased on GfWL, or alternately, provide
    Steam keys for those games?

    Yeah i allready know that but when i installing Age Of Empires Online, it is an GFWL installing screen but when it is installed it is not showing up in the actual GFWL launcher or program, so i cannot find or obtain a new key.

    Be sure to login with the same profile used for the old
    GfWL     and then you can install previously purchased games.

    Not true. I haven't been able to see my downloads in years, ever since they phased out the GfW Marketplace. All you ever get (and I just verified it again) is a message saying, "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and
    try again later."

    There are many threads over the last few years about this, and some even have Microsoft employees saying, essentially, "we're working on it." I just wanted to know if they ever did.

    Unfortunately I am not able to try with my purchases, but I can suggest you to install the old
    client also with W10. Then try to change the compatibility of the execution. Right click the above installer, or "Windows 7" (or Windows 8) Save and exit. Run the client as administrator
    and try to see if there are any games you have purchased.

    Unfortunately I am not able to try with my purchases, but I can suggest you to install the old

    I would like to clarify, did you purchase the game through Microsoft Store? If yes, kindly make sure that you're signed in under the account where the game was purchased.

    Please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders, locate the game and make sure that the status is "completed". Once confirmed, sign out on your Microsoft Store App as well as your Xbox App, and then quit both apps before signing back in under the correct Microsoft account.
