    Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition failed to start and now disappeared from my Microsoft...


    I bought Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition 3 years ago and have been playing it regularly ever since. A week ago i tried to start the game, but got an error and the game didn't launch. I tried reinstalling the game, but the download failed multiple times. I tried to google a solution but the problem was still there and i gave up on it for a while. Now i opened the Microsoft store to try and install the game again, but the store now shows that i have to buy the game again. My order history shows that i have bought the game on 27th of March 2020, but i can't install it and the store only displays the buy option.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    Good thing you have already checked the game on your order history. If it's showing as "completed" you just simply need to sign in under the correct account on both Xbox App and Microsoft Store App.

    Please check the Microsoft account signed in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders when you saw the order with a "completed" status and once you have the Microsoft account. Sign out on Both Microsoft Store App and Xbox App and then sign back in using the said Microsoft account.

    To download or update the game in the Microsoft Store:

    Press your Windows Key and search for “Store” or “Microsoft Store” to find and open the app.

    Make sure you are signed in with the account that owns Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

    Click on Library in the lower left hand corner of the Store.

    Select Games.

    Press the Get updates button to automatically detect, download, and install the latest changes to your game!

    Let the Store download Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

    Once your download is complete, you will be able to search for your game in the Windows Start menu or listed under My Library in the Microsoft Store. You can also create a shortcut to access and launch the game from anywhere on your computer.
