Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition campaign progress lost

I have played various campaigns of AoE II: DE over the last couple of days using the Xbox game pass (PC). At first I had some issues with overwriting my save games, and I was not able to retrieve the latest saved game. However, that seems to be solved now.

The issue that I have now is that the campaign progress of all the played campaigns has been lost. I can only restart each campaign from the first level again. I have checked my profile folder, and I my save games and saved replays are still there. But I do
not know where to look for where the campaign progress is stored.

Is this issue known to any of you? And do you know how to get the campaign progress back?

I know that I can redo the missions again and use the winner cheat to get back, but I guess that is not the proper solution.
